Podcasts can be a nice method. I also advice people to listen to latin music, watch spanish movies / series.

You pick up a lot of things without even noticing.

Graham, I would also bring to the readership's attention the truly elegant and informative podcasts produced by Mercedes Leon at www.espanolpodcast.org . To date there are more than 80 podcasts of about 25-30 minutes each. Every episode clarifies and illustrates some grammar point. Beautifully written guides to each episode are also available completely without charge. Mercedes' diction, enunciation, pronunciation and flawless delivery make the podcasts a joy to listen to.

The best for me is SSL4YOU. These remain totally free and the site is altruistically dedicated to teaching spanish without any comercialism - an inspiration. Notes in spanish has deteriorated into a crass money making venture and has lost the plot.

Thanks for the tips, I'll have a closer look asap.

I'd like to recommend la A-radio (http://www.laaradio.com/). It's fast and humourous and slightly obscene at times, which makes for fun listening.

Other news: The follow-on at the next level to Coffee Break Spanish has started, called Show Time Spanish - http://www.showtimespanish.com/

Hi graham,
yes I would add the SpanishPod podcasts to the list too. I like them because:
there are 5 levels
they translate and analyse the speech content
they are very productive (producing every weekday)
they are great teachers with a very relaxed feel to the presentation.
also a range of extra resources are available if you wish to purchase them

What about SpanishPod? They offer the podcasts for free, and only if you want to have extra content it costs money.

Graham,
Great list! You've uncovered some podcasts that I didn't know about. Also, thanks very much for the mention of my podcast. :)
