Tecla

April 7th, 2009 | Posted by Graham A Stephen

The Consejería de Educación of the Spanish Embassy in the UK publishes an electronic magazine called Tecla aimed at teachers and students of the language. This comes out once a month during academic term time and is available at three different levels: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. Each part is available as a four-page PDF and contains an article followed by associated exercises. The articles themselves cover a wide variety of topics in culture and current affairs. The March edition, for example, has articles on Youth Orchestras, International Women’s Day, and some Spanish and Hispanoamerican inventions.

¡Hola! I am a Spanish teacher in the United States, and discovered your blog on yesterday (Sunday, 4/19/09).  I really like it.  Especially the “Resources.”  I have a blog myself, and hope you will come over and visit it sometime.  I am in the process of doing a post on your website, and creating a link for it. Thank you for creating this.

Re: Tecla.  I teach middle and high school students. While I like Tecla a lot, I find that its content is too advanced for my students, even the Basic/Level A activities.  That said, I can occasionally use them, depending on complexity and subject matter.
